Learn Swedish, Little By Little.

Practical Swedish lessons for people who want to actually speak the language.

Hej! Jag heter Gastón.

And I'm here to help you learn Swedish without making it more complicated than it needs to be.
Learning a language takes time. There is no magic shortcut, and you don't need to know everything before you start using it.

You just need the right things, explained clearly, repeated often enough, and a chance to actually use them.

That's the idea behind Swedish Little by Little.

I create Swedish lessons that help you understand how the language works, build your vocabulary and, most importantly, become more comfortable actually using Swedish.

A personal approach
I want to know my students. What do you find easy? What do you struggle with? What do you want to be able to say? Everyone learns differently, so we'll take it from there — together, and little by little.
As a certified teacher of Swedish as a second language, I know how to break down complex concepts into manageable and logical bits, making the learning process smoother and more accessible.
As someone who has been in your shoes and learnt Swedish as an adult, I know the challenges you face. But I also know the satisfaction of breaking through those barriers and feeling confident in a new language. I’m here to help you achieve that!
As a passionate language learner myself, I know the power of persistence and practice. I understand the ups and downs of learning something new, and I’m here to help you stay motivated and make steady progress.

Frequently Asked Question

Are online Swedish courses as effective as in-person classes?

Absolutely! But an online class shouldn't just be an in-person class moved onto a screen. My classes are live, social and interactive, with small groups, plenty of conversation, exercises and feedback. And the best part? You can join from wherever you are — just you, your computer and lots of Swedish!

Can I switch to a different Swedish course later if my needs change?

Absolutely! Your needs can change as your Swedish develops, and that's completely normal. You can switch between group and private lessons whenever it makes sense for you. Not sure what would suit you best? Get in touch and we can figure it out together, I'll do a proper level assessment and we'll discuss your goals.

How do I know which Swedish course is right for me?

It really depends on how you like to learn and what you're looking for. Group courses are great if you enjoy learning with others and want regular live lessons. Private courses give you more individual attention and let us focus on what you need. And if you prefer to study whenever it suits you, self-paced courses let you learn at your own pace while still giving you a clear structure. Not sure which one is right for you? Get in touch and we'll figure it out together.

Is this just a video course?

Not at all! The videos are just one part of it. You'll also get exercises, speaking and writing practice, feedback on your assignments, reviews, and, most importantly, live lessons with me. That's where we get to actually use the Swedish you've been learning, ask questions, make mistakes, and figure things out together. The goal isn't just to understand Swedish. It's to slowly feel more comfortable using it.

Can I become fluent in Swedish just by taking your online courses?

The courses give you a solid foundation: clear explanations, structured lessons, practical exercises, speaking and writing practice, feedback, and plenty of opportunities to actually use Swedish. But fluency doesn't happen from a course alone. How quickly you progress also depends on your starting point, how regularly you study, how much Swedish you use outside the lessons, as well as other factors. You don't need to learn everything at once. Learn something, use it, practice it, come back to it, and slowly build from there.

How long does it take to learn Swedish online?

There isn't one answer for everyone. It depends on where you're starting, what you want to achieve, how regularly you study, and how much Swedish you use outside the course. Rather than rushing through as much as possible, my goal is to help you to actually remember what you learn and feel comfortable using it. You learn something, you practice it, you use it, you make some mistakes, you come back to it, you practice some more, and slowly build from there. The goal? To go from learning Swedish to actually speaking Swedish — Little By Little.

Do I need to speak Swedish to live and work in Sweden?

The answer to this question is both no and yes. Most people will tell you that you can live and work in Sweden without speaking Swedish, especially if you work in an international environment. And that is true, to a certain extent. The more nuanced truth, though, is that speaking Swedish can (and most certainly will) make a big difference to your everyday life. Speaking Swedish can help you:
- Have deeper conversations with people around you
- Make new friends
- Understand what's happening around you
- Feel more comfortable at work and get better job opportunities
- Deal with everyday situations
- Participate more fully in life in Sweden
You don't need to be fluent before you start using Swedish. You just need to start.
